4. atmospheric disturbance produced by the passage of a bullet, shell, or other missile.
5. the part of a ship's surface affected by the action of wind.
6. the slight difference between the diameter of a bullet or shell, and of the bore of a gun of the same caliber, a necessary characteristic of certain smoothbore guns and rifled guns firing spherical shot.
